Designed by Sonia Vasquez in collaboration with member input. We chose the raised fist for its historical and contemporary symbolism of solidarity and strength in unity.

The colors of white, red, yellow, and black were chosen to represent the medicine wheel of Indigenous people. The colors of deep brown and lighter brown represent communities of color.

With the outline of the logo being similar in shape to Wisconsin, we added the shape of Manitowoc County with respect to our local community.

The heart within the county represents the City of Manitowoc, where we were founded, most frequently do our work, and aim to bring unity through education, understanding, and love.

Our History

In the wake of George Floyd's death on May 25th, 2020, a group of young adults  came together to unify our diverse community through celebration. The seeds of Lakeshore's United Visionaries were planted at that Inaugural Cook Out, and since that day we have been dedicated to celebrating intersectional identities in our community.
